"one step and then the next"
Thank you to the “got Momentum…?” community once again for our conversation, as this past Monday we explored self-compassion, what makes this difficult, and how we can be kinder and more mindful of the ways we treat and show up for ourselves.
Sadly we're coming to the end of our series. Join us on March 28 for our final installment in the series where we wrap up with some strategies and tools for maintaining our mental and emotional well-being. Participation is free and you can sign up at https://lnkd.in/ghn-8utm. See you there!
Thank you to the “got Momentum…?” community once again for our conversation, as this past Monday we discussed ways anxiety can show up and interrupt us. Thinking traps are only traps if there’s no way out, and we were able to talk about a few escape routes! We also shared some ideas for self-soothing when those physical symptoms of anxiety hit.
Sadly we're coming to the end of our series, but we've still got a couple of weeks to go! Join us on March 21 as we talk about how to cultivate self-compassion. Participation is free and you can sign up at https://lnkd.in/ghn-8utm. See you there!
Wow, I can’t believe we’re half-way through "got Momentum...?"! As always, I left Monday’s gathering feeling inspired and grateful for the conversation and connection. As we shared how we’ve spent the past 2 years of our lives navigating a pandemic—as health care professionals, employees, students, parents, Black folks…we reflected on strategies we used to cope, the varying definitions of “normalcy” to which we may or may not return, and how we can embrace the opportunity for and get grounded as we continue to move forward. Some really great stuff.
We’re on break for a week before returning on March 14 to discuss building awareness and developing some strategies around anxious thoughts patterns.

These conversations have been so fun and inspiring and beautiful. I can’t thank people enough for showing up as their full, real, selves and diving into these topics head-on. #grateful
Join us on February 28 as we look at how we’ve been navigating pandemic life in the midst of all the other things we’ve had to deal with, and how we move forward as we enter COVID-19, Year 3. Participation is free and you can sign up at https://lnkd.in/ghn-8utm.

Once again we so feel grateful for and humbled by the presence, vulnerability, and authenticity we had in our second “got Momentum…?” gathering focused on beauty standards. People got real with the learning and unlearning of familial, cultural, and societal beauty standards that can affect our sense of self. And the work that has to take place in order to realize and see our true beauty.
Join us on February 21 as we dive into attachment styles and what these mean for our relationships with others and even ourselves. Participation is free and you can sign up at

Wow!! A huge THANK YOU to everyone who showed up for the first “got Momentum…?” gathering focused on the Strong Black Woman archetype. We got into it!! We so appreciate the robust and honest discussions we had about redefining strength, weakness, and vulnerability in our relationships with ourselves and others.
And we’re looking forward to doing it again! Join us for our second installment on Feb 14 as we dive into the notion of “beauty standards” and how these affect how we move through the world. Yes, it’s on Valentine’s day, so your boo might have to wait for you 😊 but it’ll be worth the wait! Participation is FREE and you can sign up at https://lnkd.in/ghn-8utm.

“got Momentum…?” is an 8-week series focused on creating space for folks to gather and have dialogue about varied topics of interest. This meetings are part of Momentum's mission to engage the community in conversations and to provide a space where folks can gain new information or reinforce information they've already known, to have facilitated dialogue with mental health professionals and allow participants to draw support from one another and the conversations that unfold. Each week throughout February and March we'll have a different topic and we will be kicking things off on February 7, discussing how the concept of the “Strong Black Woman” relates to relationships with oneself and others.
